You are cordially invited to an evening of classical music with Klyde Ledamo in Sterling, Virginia, a fundraising event to support the Sto. Niño Parish Children’s Choir of Bontoc, Southern Leyte, Philippines.
Klyde was previously a part of this choir and grew up in the town. The children’s choir is run on a voluntary basis, with no funding, and relies on private support. Lea Ledamo, Klyde’s mother, has been the director for many years and has personally funded, with some help from friends and volunteers, the feeding of 70 children after rehearsals, masses, and special events. A recent initiative provided uniforms for the choir members for the first time, thanks to generous donors. In the coming years, with Lea dedicating her life to serving the church and leading this group full-time, and Klyde hoping to support these children, many of whom come from indigent families and join the choir for food, we hope to have a positive impact, and continue serving the Lord. While there is interest from more children to join, our current limitations, including a restricted budget and rehearsal space, only allow us to support up to 70 children.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to ensure the choir’s future by providing necessities like food and additional uniforms, particularly in light of the upcoming Lenten season performances of Holy Week.

Additionally, establishing a music camp is a future plan, which will feature guest conductors or musicians who will provide training and professional guidance to the children, with the ultimate goal of showcasing their talents in performances. As you may be aware, this town lacks exposure to the arts, and it would be beneficial to support these children, our future generations, in their artistic pursuits, which will not only enrich our art and cultural heritage but also contribute to the betterment of humanity, creating a more harmonious world.
We appreciate donations in any amount, as they will surely make a big impact. You can donate through Zelle (Klyde Ledamo at 561-235-9723) cash, check, or send us a message for bank transfer and other options. We would appreciate your consideration of a donation even if you cannot attend the concert.
